About Vitex Negundo :
Vitex Negundo is characterized as the large, aromatic shrub having the quadrangular branchlets. The main constitutional elematnts of Vitex Negundo includes casticin, isoorientin, chrysophenol D, luteolin, p –hydroxybenzoic acid and D-fructose. It has the leaves which are the febrifuge, tonic, sedative. These leaves can be used to disperse the joints swellings from the acute rheumatism. Juice is extracted from the leaves which can be used removing foetid discharges and worms from ulcers. The oil can be prepared from the leaf juice which can be further used on sinuses and scrofulous sores. The dried fruit of Vitex Negundo can be used treating cold, angina, cough etc. Its root is used for curing the cold and rheumatic ailments.
