Asparagus is native to various parts of the europe, northern africa and various parts of the western africa. Now a days, asparagus is also grown as the vegetable crop. It grows to the height of 100-150 cm. It has been characterized as the herbaceous perennial plant with stout larissa stems and much branched feather foliage. It has the small red berry fruit which has the diameter of around 6-10mm. Green asparagus is eaten in various parts of the world as it is considered cheaper throughout it is not considered cheaper. Asparagus roots are sweet, bitter, tonic with a cooling effect and is used for curing nervous disorders, tumors, scalding of urine, throat infections, cough bronchitis and general disability. Its roots are extensively used for curing joints stiffness.
