About Ocimum Sanctum : From the family of lamiaceae, tulsi is the well acclaimed aromatic plant. Tulsi plant is a small herb with white, tinged purple flowers. Its foliage is green and have strong odor. The plant is considered pious and is used in various Hindu rituals. It is famous for its medicinal qualities in throughout the south asia. It proves to be highly effective in ayurvedic medicines as it is used for curing headaches, common cold, heart diseases, stomach disorders, malaria etc. It is consumed either with tea, as dried powder, fresh leaf or with pure ghee.
